Families,
I am so excited to work with you all this school year! In order to hopefully make this transition a little easier, I would love to provide you with some information about myself so you may feel more comfortable sharing your children with me this school year.
I am a product of Henrico County Public Schools as I have lived in Sandston, Virginia my entire life. I attended James Madison University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Interdisciplinary Liberal Studies and also earned a Master’s Degree in Teaching with concentration in Elementary Education. I have always loved school and learning and I try to instill that same passion in the children I teach!
We will learn all about reading, writing, language, social studies, and science this year. I believe that hands-on learning is the best way for students to engage and learn in a meaningful way. Working together and building a strong home-school connection is something I consider very important in the success of our children. Here are a few suggestions for supporting your child’s learning at home: reading together for 20 minutes a night, practicing sight words, and reflecting on what they learned each day. Please never hesitate to call or e-mail if you ever have questions, joys, or concerns regarding your child. Feel free to follow our class website for weekly updates.
Your children and their success in kindergarten is my number one priority, and I look forward to challenging and enriching their minds as we make our way through each nine weeks!
